for operating costs including hiring a second part-time production assistant to provide services for the visually impaired and those with injuries, cancer, and other diseases who are unable to read due to the effects of their medications, or inability to manipulate printed material.  
The Salvation Army $55,000
towards the construction of five new winterized cabins for year-round activities at Camp Puh'Tok near Gunpowder Falls State Park. The Camp is used by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts on weekends in the off season and by 750 campers, ages 5-17 each summer.  
South Baltimore Homeless Shelter $50,000
for operating expenses for this transitional shelter that provides rigorous self-help programs within a safe and caring environment for 40 homeless men while supporting them in their transition to self-sufficiency.  
South East Community Organization $25,000
for a community organizer to make SECO a stronger, more diverse and more representative umbrella organization, and to supervise several organizers focused on community issues. Among the programs coordinated by SECO are: Head Start, adult literacy, senior services and educational programs for Hispanic youth.  
Special Olympics $25,000
to expand The Athlete Congress at the community level. Throughout the year The Athlete Congress contacts fellow Special Olympics athletes to determine their opinions on issues which will be voted on at the annual state congress.  
St. Vincent de Paul Society $75,000
to help fund the children's playground located at Park Heights and Ulman Avenues which is a part of the St. Ambrose Family Outreach Center whose mission is to help low-income families become self-sufficient and realize their full potential.  
Woman's Industrial Exchange $50,000
to cover the design and construction costs for the first floor retail space where 200 low-income women support themselves and their families by selling their handcrafted goods in the consignment shop.
