Since 1999, Greg has been directing the general operations of the Foundation, including grantmaking, investments, implementing new initiatives, and overseeing the work of staff and volunteer trustees. Previously, he served for seven years as Executive Director of Light Street Housing Corporation where he implemented the vision of "Homelessness to Homeownership". He began his career as a Senior Cartographer at the Defense Imaging Agency, where he provided hydrographic and joint operations mapping including supporting our forces during Desert Shield and Storm. He holds an Executive M.B.A. degree from Loyola College and a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Cartography from UMBC. Greg currently serves as President of One Less Car and is also a Board member of the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers where he chairs the Emergency Preparedness Task Force.
Greg considers Baltimore home but has lived in Cairo, Egypt and as a former Licensed Merchant Marine Officer, Master of auxiliary sail, he has sailed the East Coast as far as Bermuda and the Bahamas.
For fun and fitness, Greg plays the bagpipes and bicycles to work many days of the week (22 miles each way), recently achieving over 100,000 bicycle commuting miles! He also enjoys swimming, tandeming, hiking, rowing, and sailing with his wife and two teenage daughters.
